Approve Letter of Support for Coast Miwok Public Art Project - YES

Our council received a request from local artist Lucina Vidauri, Founder of Coast Miwok of Southern Marin Project, with her plans to create a public art piece recognizing and honoring the first inhabitants of Marin County, the Coast Miwok. She will create a bronze statue honoring her ancestral community to remind us of the peoples that lived here before us. I am proud to support this significant opportunity to recognize Marin’s original residents and recognize their history and continued presence in our community.
