Originally introduced as a means to enable restaurants and other local businesses to continue operating while still adhering to COVID restrictions, parklets—parking spaces converted into outdoor dining areas—are here to stay! While the pandemic may have prompted the need for parklets, their positive impact on local businesses and our community members justifies a more permanent presence. I’m happy to have voted in favor of supporting small businesses through the expansion of outdoor dining!
