We voted to change Corte Madera's zoning laws, to clarify and simplify our design review and zoning regulations, making them more consistent, user-friendly, and aligned with the Town's goals. The changes affect various parts of the zoning code, which hadn't been updated significantly since 1994, and needed to be revised to reflect modern needs and practices, clarify complex rules and simplify the design review process. The new language reflects the community's experience over the past nine years and is intended to provide clearer and more straightforward regulations. These updates were informed by public workshops and meetings, with ample community input considered.
