After years of outstanding service with the Town of Corte Madera, our human resources consultant has taken her well-earned retirement. We conducted an open recruitment to find a new HR consultant, and after a thorough vetting process that evaluated four different candidates, I voted to contract with CPS HR Consulting. Rather than a for-profit company, CPS is a public agency that provides HR consulting services to other public agencies.
CPS brings deep experience working with towns like ours. They'll help with everything from recruitment and employee relations to compliance, benefits, and labor negotiations. They'll provide weekly support to both the Town and the Central Marin Fire Department, helping us stay responsive, organized, and legally compliant—without the overhead of a full-time, in-house position. The three-year agreement is not to exceed $405,000, and the Fire Department will reimburse the Town for its share.
I’m confident this partnership will help both the Town and our Fire Department operate more smoothly, and better support our employees.
