Flooding has historically been a major issue in Corte Madera. Our flood control system is vast and complex, with 47 miles of storm drain pipes, canals, pump stations, flood gates, and detention basins. Much of this infrastructure is in need of maintenance or upgrades.
I voted to adopt an updated Storm Drain Master Plan, which provides a comprehensive assessment of the system, something the Town has never had before. With a clearer understanding of the network’s condition, the Town will be able to prioritize repairs and allocate funding more efficiently. The plan identifies $100 million in deferred maintenance and capital improvements, including $29.5 million in high-priority projects to be addressed over the next decade.
