Let Local Businesses Continue to Operate Outdoors - YES

There isn't much to like about the COVID pandemic, but the new-indoor outdoor lifestyle—with many stores and restaurants taking over parking spaces and sidewalks to offer COVID-safe operation—has definitely been one of them.

I was thrilled to vote to continue allowing businesses to operate outdoors. Local business owners and workers are able to reclaim much of the business they lost during the initial COVID lockdown, stimulating the local economy. Meanwhile, residents have a pleasant and safe new way to enjoy some of the very best that Corte Madera businesses have to offer!

While tonight's action came in the form of another year-long extension of an "emergency" permit for outdoor operations, I will support making this change permanent. It's a win for businesses, and a win for residents!
