I voted to approve new 3-year labor contracts for much of our hardworking Town staff. The new agreement includes a salary increase schedule, starting with a 4% increase in July 2024, followed by 3% increases in July 2025 and 2026. Additionally, it introduces new benefits such as a Supplemental Dental Fund, the option to opt-out of Town-provided medical coverage, and an increase in the Retiree Medical benefit. The contracts also include updates to the Department Head Employees Administrative Leave Policy and adds Juneteenth as an official holiday. The proposal aligns with recent compensation agreements in surrounding jurisdictions and ensures fiscal responsibility while ensuring that our Town staff are fairly paid for their hard work delivering the programs and services our residents rely on.
