Approve $511k for Town Hall A/V & Security - YES

In January 2022 we began the building process for our new town hall. This new 11,000 sq. ft. building will include many improved public amenities such as a new public permitting center, a new council chamber/community room, new offices/workspaces, and an outdoor plaza built within the redwood trees. This building will use green and sustainable elements to achieve Zero Net Energy and Zero Net Carbon.

I voted yes to authorize $511,440 in construction contingency for audio, video, and security systems for the new Corte Madera Town Hall. This scope was originally going to be implemented as part of a separate contract, but we ultimately determined that adding this item into the main construction contract would be more cost-effective. The majority of the funds for the security systems will be transferred from the Town’s Equipment and Technology Fund, as has been planned since the inception of the project.

The town has partnered with residents as well as professionals in areas such as sustainability, environmental protection, and historical preservation all to guarantee a civic space that the community and generations to come will be able to utilize. We are incredibly fortunate for the opportunity and look forward to seeing the results!
