Public Safety

Empowering our first responders to keep us safe

  • Pledge adequate funding to the Central Marin Police Authority and Central Marin Fire Department, so they can meet and exceed the expectations of the citizens they protect

  • Maintain strong communication between Town Council, CMPA, and CMFD

  • Collaborate with CMPA and CMFD to strengthen the relationship between the public and our first responders

  • Work through the Twin Cities Disaster Preparedness Committee to ensure all Corte Maderans are part of a Neighborhood Response Group

  • Support the Disaster Council in preparing a robust and effective disaster plan

Central Marin Police and Fire
  • Pledge adequate funding to the Central Marin Police and Central Marin Fire, so they can meet and exceed the expectations of the citizens they protect. Sufficient funding is essential to maintaining public safety, making sure local authorities have the resources and equipment they need to do their job.

  • Maintain strong communication between Town Council, CMPA, and CMFD. It's important that the town be in continuous and direct contact with the local authorities, fostering mutual understanding of the town and emergency services' respective needs.

Engaging the public
  • Collaborate with CMPA and CMFD to strengthen the relationship between the public and our first responders. Building trust between emergency responders and the community enhances public safety by giving police officers, firefighters, and paramedics a better sense of the communities they serve, and can make emergency response easier in times of crisis. Let's continue to find new opportunities for residents to interact with first responders.

Neighborhood response groups
  • Work through the Twin Cities Disaster Preparedness Committee to ensure all Corte Maderans are part of a Neighborhood Response Group. Public safety is greatly enhanced when all members of the community know what to do and where to seek or provide help following a disaster. We've made great progress in establishing Neighborhood Response Groups, but there's more work to be done.

  • Support the Disaster Council in preparing a robust and effective disaster plan. By working closely with Corte Madera's Disaster Council, we can make sure that our community has all the resources, infrastructure, and assistance it needs in responding to earthquakes, fires, floods, or other disasters.

I want to hear from you!
