  • Ensure Neil Cummins and the Cove School remain top-tier institutions. We have an extra responsibility to make sure the two public schools here in Corte Madera—where most of our youth begin their academic careers—are giving our kids all the resources they need to lead healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.

  • Foster greater community involvement with the School District. Quality education requires the involvement of the entire community, not just parents and teachers. Let's increase communication between the LCMSD, the Town, and the community, and get residents from all walks of life involved in developing our local education system.

Expand Safe Routes to School

  • Continue the mission of providing safe access from every neighborhood to every school. We've already made great progress in providing kids with Safe Routes to School, but there's always more work to be done. Let's work on making Paradise Drive a safer corridor for students to walk or bike to the Cove School and Marin Country Day School, and on providing a safer and more convenient way to cross the freeway at Tamalpais Drive.

Education for all ages
  • Explore expanding educational opportunities for the entire community. Education should be a lifelong journey, and the joy it brings should be available to all, regardless of age. Let's explore working with local organizations to provide more formal and informal educational opportunities for adults and seniors, as well as children and adolescents.

Create vocational training opportunities

  • Work with the Chamber of Commerce to connect students with vocational training. In recent decades, our society has chronically undervalued apprenticeships and internships, which can give students unique insight into various trades and industries. Let's diversify local educational offerings by helping potential apprentices find vocational training opportunities.
